Audiology: Did You Know?

Audiology is dedicated to evaluating, diagnosing, and treating conditions related to hearing and balance. Audiologists are specialized clinicians trained to understand how the ear and auditory system work and to identify what may be causing hearing loss, tinnitus, or dizziness.

Did you know these facts about audiology at Peoria ENT?

·      Audiologists can successfully treat hearing loss from start to finish. From diagnosis to treatment plan and evaluation, our expert audiologists at Peoria ENT are involved with your hearing journey at every step!

·      Our audiologists at Peoria ENT are all Doctors of Audiology. They each earned an advanced degree in Audiology complete with peer mentoring and training.

·      Audiologists can treat more than hearing loss. At PENT, they help with other concerns such as ringing in the ears, sensitivity to loud noise, hearing loss prevention, and more.

·      Our audiologists receive extensive training in the assessment of hearing, diagnosis, fitting, and adjustment of hearing aids. This helps ensure an accurate diagnosis, appropriate treatment plan, and a positive outcome from any hearing aid.

·      Audiologists are different than hearing instrument dispensers—and, at Peoria ENT, we have both. An audiologist is extensively trained in the science of hearing, while a hearing instrument dispenser is licensed to perform testing for the sole purpose of fitting and managing hearing aids. While you may be helped by either or both on your hearing journey, they are not interchangeable.

At Peoria ENT, our audiology team has well over 100+ years of combined professional experience in varying backgrounds. Our expert doctors are dedicated to offering our patients cutting-edge technology and the best possible solutions to their hearing problems.
