Ryan T. Funk, M.D.

Dr. Funk is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a graduate of Bradley University and obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2015 where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed residency training in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Southern Illinois University in 2020. Dr. Funk provides comprehensive otolaryngological (ENT) care for both pediatric and adult patients with special interest in thyroid and parathyroid disease, skin cancer and reconstruction, salivary gland pathology, sleep disorders, and nasal and sinus disease with an emphasis on minimally invasive and in-office procedures.

 

James A. Geraghty, M.D.

Dr. Geraghty is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a Diplomat of the prestigious National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Geraghty graduated with honors from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago in 1991 and was President of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine – Chicago in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Geraghty has conducted research on autologous fibrin tissue adhesives and post-op pain control in Head & Neck Surgery. He has published papers in the Annals of Otolaryngology, Rhinology and Laryngology. Dr. Geraghty is an Asst. Clinical Professor with the University of Illinois College of Medicine – Peoria. Dr. Geraghty practices general adult and pediatric Otolaryngology (ENT) with a special interest in cancers and tumors of the head & neck and sleep disorders, thyroid and parathyroid disease, nasal and sinus disease and the use of minimally invasive sinus surgery.  In fact Dr. Geraghty was one of the first doctors in the Midwest to be certified in the use of minimally invasive Balloon Sinuplasty.

 

William A. Johnson IV, M.D.

Dr. Johnson is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.  Dr. Johnson graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology.  Dr. Johnson received his Medical Degree also from the University of Michigan in 2005 and he completed his residency at the University of Chicago, Department of Surgery, Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery Section in 2010.  Prior to joining Peoria Ear, Nose & Throat Group, Dr. Johnson practiced in Ohio, simultaneously treating patients at St. Lukes Hospital, Defiance Regional Medical Center, Flower Hospital, and Toledo Children’s Hospital. Dr. Johnson practices general adult and pediatric Otolaryngology (ENT).

 

James J. Klemens, M.D.

Dr. Klemens is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.  Dr. James Klemens graduated from Southern Illinois University as a Doctor of Medicine in 2000. He completed his internship in the Department of Surgery, University of Chicago Hospitals in 2001, and did his Residency in Otolaryngology and a research Fellowship with an emphasis in sinus inflamation at The University of Chicago Hospitals, graduating in 2007.  Dr. Klemens has partnered with OSF St. Francis Hospital to bring Cochlear Implants (It’s the only medical device designed to restore a human sense!) and bone anchored hearing aid implants (BAHA) to deaf and hearing impaired individuals in central Illinois.

Hetal H. Patel, M.D.

Dr. Patel is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.  She received her Doctor of Medicine from The St. Louis University School of Medicine in 2011. She then completed a residency program in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at Penn State – Hershey S. Milton Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Patel completed a fellowship in Otology at the Florida Ear and Sinus Center. Dr. Patel will be providing general Otolaryngological medical and surgical assistance to both adult and pediatric patients with a special emphasis in Otology which is medical and surgical care of patients, both adult and pediatric, with diseases that affect the ears (including hearing loss, tinnitus & inflammatory diseases of the ear), facial nerve disorders, tumors of the ear, hearing nerve and skull base maladies.

Jamie is Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the State of Illinois. Jamie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010. She was awarded a Master of Medical Science, Physician Assistant Studies degree from Midwestern University in 2012. Prior to her employment with Peoria Ear, Nose & Throat Group, Jamie gained valuable clinical experience through her position as a physician assistant with UnityPoint Methodist Family Practice, Pekin. Jamie works closely with each of our ENT physicians in providing outstanding clinical patient care.

Richard A. Miller, PA-C

Richard Miller

 

Rich is Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the State of Illinois.  He graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Education.  Instead of starting a teaching career, he decided to move to Colorado and became a Certified National Ski Patroller at Keystone Ski Resort where he developed a desire to care for injured and sick patients.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Saint Louis University in 2000.  Prior to joining Peoria Ear, Nose & Throat Group in 2018, Rich was employed by RenalCare Associates from 2000-2008 and Midwest Ear, Nose & Throat from 2008-2018.

 

 

Renae Springer, APRN

Renae Springer

 

Renae is Board Certified by The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from St. Francis College of Nursing in 2009. She worked at OSF St. Francis Medical Center as a registered nurse for 9 years in various roles from bedside nurse, charge nurse, nurse educator, to nurse manager. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Walden University in 2017. Prior to her employment with Peoria Ear, Nose & Throat Group, Renae gained valuable clinical experience through her positions as a Nurse Practitioner in occupational health, palliative care, and hospice. Renae works closely with each of our ENT physicians in providing outstanding clinical patient care.
